NextGen

We are partnering with families to disciple the next generation into a life of following Christ. We believe that kids and students aren’t just the future of the church; they are part of the church today! The Grace NextGen ministry is about Children’s and Student Ministries coming together to help our kids and students know that they are created and loved by God, and to teach them to own their own faith as followers of Jesus Christ.

SUNDAY PROGRAMMING
Infants-Grade 6
 • 9AM & 11AM

In GraceKids Preschool, we teach our kids what it means to belong to God and His Kingdom, believe in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, and to become like Jesus and walk in His ways through the power of the Holy Spirit. Kids learn these truths through worshipping and listening to Bible stories in a small group setting, and learning through engaging activities.

For more information, contact La Kesia Patton, Director of Children’s Ministries, at 313.936.1511 or lpatton@gracewired.com

In GraceKids Elementary, kids explore what it means to belong to God and His Kingdom, to believe in Jesus as their Savior, and to become more like Him through the power of the Holy Spirit. Kids learn these truths in a safe, high-energy environment, where they worship together, hear Bible stories, dive into meaningful small group conversations, and enjoy engaging activities.

For more information, contact La Kesia Patton, Director of Children’s Ministries, at 313.936.1511 or lpatton@gracewired.com

In Element 456, students dive into a chronological journey through the Bible that builds a strong, lasting foundation for their faith. Through engaging messages and meaningful small group conversations, students build deeper connections with one another and discover how God’s story connects to their everyday lives.

To make the move into Student Ministries even smoother, Grade 6 is a “dual enrollment” year, with students in Grade 6 becoming part of both our preteen and student ministry environments. This means they’re also invited to join Grace Youth on Wednesday nights, giving them a natural and supportive transition into what’s ahead.

WEDNESDAY PROGRAMMING
Grades 6-12 •
7-9PM

Wednesday nights at Grace Youth are for students to take steps toward owning their own faith by growing in scripture, discovering the heart of Jesus, and forming meaningful relationships that shape who they’re becoming.

Students are challenged and encouraged to OYO, Own Your Own faith, by growing in the knowledge of the Word of God, learning about why Jesus matters, and building Christ-centered lasting relationships.

Whether a student has grown up in church or is just beginning to explore who God is, Grace Youth offers a safe, high-energy environment where they can encounter God’s love, be encouraged by peers and leaders, and learn what it truly means to live like Jesus.

Parent-Child Dedication

Parent/Child Dedication provides an opportunity for a family to publicly express their desire to lead and spiritually nurture their child. Dedication is a declaration, before God and the church, of their intention to raise their child in the knowledge of Jesus Christ in order to develop in them a love for God and others. Dedication of a child is not baptism. At Grace, we believe that baptism is the next step after a person is mature enough to have made a conscious decision to repent and accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.

All parents must participate in a mandatory class prior to dedicating their child.

For more information, contact La Kesia Patton, Director of Children’s Ministries, at 313.936.1511 or lpatton@gracewired.com.

Kids with Special Needs

We are a mosaic, which means all of us are unique. For our kids and students who require some assistance, we would love to partner with you! We have a small group of team members who work closely with families to figure out what works best for their child.

Our hope is to grow this service to better serve everyone at Grace. Thank you for partnering with us!

If your child has special needs, please contact La Kesia Patton, Director of Children’s Ministry, at lpatton@gracewired.com to start the intake process.

Who Should Be Baptized

If you have accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, placing your faith in His death and resurrection as the sole basis for the forgiveness of sin, then you are ready to be baptized! Your baptism is an opportunity to show others that you now belong to Jesus and are committed to walking with Him always.

Baptism symbolizes what took place in your heart at the time of salvation:

  • Accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior.
  • Shared in His death, burial, and resurrection, illustrated by going under the water (dead to your old life), then rising again (new life).

Questions? Contact Tracey Krusz at tkrusz@gracewired.com or call 313.936.1501.

Here at Grace, we understand Scripture to teach that only professing believers who understand the gospel and have committed to a life of following Christ are eligible for baptism. For infants and young children, we practice Parent/Child Dedication. For information about Parent/Child Dedication, email La Kesia Patton, or call 313.936.1511.
