Resources on Race & Reconciliation

Racism and Christianity are Not Compatible

There is no room in the teaching of scripture for racism on any level. In fact, one cannot love God and accept any form of racism, oppression, or systems that hold a person or a people group down. If these words seem strong or harsh, they should. They should wake us up and cause us to take personal and corporate inventory.  They should inspire us to prayerfully consider any area where we hold prejudicial or racial biases. To be clear, these are not our words but the words of the apostle John, who wrote: Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. “Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.” 1 John 4:7-8 NIV

Grace Community Church wants to be crystal clear that we denounce any and all forms of racism and are committed to standing with all people for equal opportunity and treatment. We are a mosaic striving to live like Jesus who, in fact, showed no partiality (Romans 2:11). We are also committed to standing for and fighting for justice, because we know that God loves justice (Isaiah 61:8).
